Rui da Silva is a Portuguese producer and DJ born in 1968, who began making house music in Lisbon in 1992. With DJ Vibe he co-founded Kaos Records, the first label in Portugal dedicated to house and electronic music, and together they created the Underground Sound of Lisbon project. After relocating to London in 1999, he founded Kismet Records and developed a more progressive sound, releasing 'Touch Me' featuring Cassandra Fox — a track that topped the UK Singles Chart in January 2001, becoming the first progressive house track to reach number one and the first song by a Portuguese act to do so. He played The Prog Lab at Asylum Nightclub, Bristol, on 5th October 2019.
