GMJ and Matter are Melbourne-based DJ and producer duo Gavin Martin and Matty Doyle, who joined forces in late 2015 after years as individual fixtures in the Australian underground scene. Together they co-founded the Meanwhile Recordings label in 2020, which has become one of the most respected imprints in progressive house, and they also release on Mango Alley, Balance Music and Proton. Their productions are characterised by deep, atmospheric textures and long-form structural thinking, and have drawn support from key figures across the genre. GMJ has a solo back catalogue stretching over two decades across labels including Sudbeat, Anjunadeep, Replug and Proton.
