Chicola is the alias of Chico Shuella, an Israeli DJ and producer from Tel Aviv whose career in electronic music spans more than two decades. He began DJing at the Allenby 58 club in Tel Aviv in the mid-nineties and later became a resident at the Haoman 17 venue, sharing lineups with international artists including Carl Craig and Danny Tenaglia. After a deliberate step back from the international scene to manage one of Israel's largest wedding DJ agencies, he returned to production in 2011 and released his debut album 'Could Heaven Be' on Guy J's Lost & Found label. He has since released on Sudbeat, Microcastle, Plattenbank and Selador. The Prog Lab booked him for The Loco Klub in Bristol on 2nd May 2020, though the event was cancelled due to Covid.
